CBD & Meditation: What You Need to Know
Find Your Balance!

Are you feeling stressed or overwhelmed?

If you’re looking for a more natural solution, you may want to consider a combination of CBD and Meditation. By having a better understanding of what CBD and meditation entail, as well as their many health and wellness benefits, you can decide whether this ritual may be right for you.

What Are CBD and Meditation?

Specifically, CBD stands for cannabidiol, one of over a hundred different naturally occurring cannabinoids found in hemp plants. It is important to understand that CBD is not derived from marijuana. CBD is non-psychoactive, tinctures (Oil) offer the best bioavailability (Absorption) throughout the body. CBD/Hemp has many beneficial plant compounds, Cannabinoids, Terpenes, Flavonoids, Anti-Oxidants, and Essential Oils. These plant compounds work synergistically together, enhancing and increasing each other’s health & wellness benefits (the Entourage Effect).
Types of CBD

CBD works by interacting within our body’s Endocannabinoid System. This is a biological system composed of endocannabinoids, which are endogenous lipid-based retrograde neurotransmitters that bind to cannabinoid receptors and cannabinoid receptor proteins expressed throughout our bodies vertebrate, central nervous system, brain, and peripheral nervous system.

This system remains under research, and experts believe that this system may be involved in regulating our physiological and cognitive processes, Appetite, Pain-Sensation, Inflammation, Muscle Control, Energy, Stress Response, Mood, Motivation and Reward, Metabolism, Focus, Thermoregulation, Sleep, Memory, and in mediating the effect of Cannabinoids. Cannabidiol (CBD), Cannabigerol (CBG), Cannabinol (CBN), Cannabichromene (CBC).

Two primary endocannabinoid receptors are CB1 and CB2. CB1 receptors are found predominantly in the brain and the nervous system, the peripheral organs, and tissues. They are the main molecular target of the endocannabinoid ligand (binding molecule) and anandamide. CB2 receptors are predominantly in the body. One other main endocannabinoid, 2-Arachidonoylglycerol (2-AG), is active in both cannabinoid receptors, along with its own mimetic Phytocannabinoid. CBD 2-AG is involved in the regulation of appetite, immune system functions, and pain management.

Layman terms = Experts believe the overall function of the Endocannabinoid System is to create Homeostasis (BALANCE throughout the brain & body), which is what Cannabinoids (CBD, CBG, CBN, CBC) are designed to support by nature.

Meanwhile, meditation is a reflective practice that involves reaching mindfulness and relaxation through deep breaths, focusing exercises, self-awareness, and creating balance in your life. Some people choose to meditate daily (or multiple times per day), whereas others may meditate when feeling stressed or overwhelmed.
CBD works by creating balance to the endocannabinoid system regulating our physiological and cognitive processes, and mindfulness meditation also creates balance, making them a perfect match.

Benefits of CBD and Meditation

CBD and meditation offer many benefits on their own, but they can be especially powerful when used in conjunction with each other. Taking a form of CBD (such as CBD oil) shortly before meditating makes it possible to get more out of your meditation session while also setting the tone for a calm and relaxing day. Many people will also use CBD and meditation together before bedtime to fall asleep faster and achieve higher quality rest.
